VDL Nedcar is a Dutch car factory with fifty years of experience in building cars. After starting out as DAF, we built cars for Volvo, DaimlerChrysler, Mitsubishi and now BMW. Twenty-three models – totalling more than five million cars – have rolled off the production line in Born.
We have been part of the VDL Group in Eindhoven since the end of May 2012 and the factory has undergone a transformation into an independent car manufacturer. The production halls and lines were renovated and converted between 2012 and 2014. Our logistics facilities were expanded and modernized. The factory reopened officially in July 2014 and production of the MINI Hatch started. The MINI Cabrio and the MINI Countryman, of which we also produce the PHEV variant, were added in 2014 and 2016 respectively. VDL Nedcar has also been building the BMW X1 since 2017.
